The district rep was sitting in the office when the call came.
"You have to come right away," said the voice on the telephone.
"What's this about?" he asked.
"There's no time. I can't explain on the telephone. You need to drop whatever you're doing and get to the principal's office right away. It's an emergency!"
The district rep had paperwork to do, but figured it could wait. He got in his car and rushed to the school. When he got there, he went to the principal's office and saw the secretary.
"Thank God you're here," she said.
"What's the problem?" he asked.
"It's Miss Wormwood, the principal"
What's wrong with her?"
"She's dead," the secretary said."
The district rep was confused. "Why did you call me? Why didn't you call 911?"
"She's in the bathroom," the secretary said. "She's been there for two hours. We don't know what to do."
"Are you sure?" the DR asked. "Have you tried knocking on the door?"
"Yes, we've been trying for an hour. She doesn't answer. She must be dead."
The DR knocked on the door. There was no answer. He knocked harder. Nothing.
"Are you sure she's in there?"
"Yes, I told you," said the secretary. "We've been knocking for hours"
"Why didn't you call 911?" he asked.
"We called you," she said.
The DR started knocking really loudly, He decided it was time to break down the door. He took a run at the door and hit it really hard.
"Hey, what's going on?" came a voice from inside the bathroom.
The DR stood there, as Ms. Wormwood opened the door and walked out.
"What happened?" he asked her.
"I feel asleep," she said. "What are you doing here?"
"The staff thought you died," he said.
"Really?" she asked. "Why didn't they call 911?"
